Vulnerability; weakness or strength? Well that all depends on how you view it.
Let me ask you something... what comes to your mind first when you think of vulnerability? Could it be fear, hurt, or maybe judgement?
True, being vulnerable does make you susceptible to the judgement of others, but if you willfully open your heart and be authentic with others in your interactions is that not a sign of courage? And isn’t courage a characteristic of a strong person?
Vulnerability is an act of courage because you merge with your authentic self, instead of hiding behind a facade to appease others.
Research Professor Brene Brown reminds us that vulnerability is the cornerstone of courage building and without it neither innovation or creativity exist. There is no innovation without failure and there is nothing more uncertain than the creative process. Thus your success is dependent on your ability of being vulnerable to the appropriate degree with others. It is within the unknown where your greatest potentials lie!
